Farmer’s Daughter Jam

I read about The Farmer”s Daughter jams a few months ago and signed up for the Taste of the South Seasonal Jam Club.  I had kind of forgotten about it, so was pleasantly surprised when I received my three jars in the mail.  The first jar I tried was the Ros-y Strawberry Rhubarb Jam.  I mixed it with cottage cheese before my morning run and couldn’t believe how good it was.  So good in fact, I went out for bagels so the rest of the house could try it.  We all loved it, maybe the best I have ever had. The ingredient mix was not only perfect but the texture was great.  It was just sweet enough but not so sweet that it covered up the fresh flavors of the fruit.

After eating almost the entire jar, I sampled the Strawberry Honeysuckle and was blown away by the fresh strawberry flavor and the subtle honeysuckle. The strawberries where still in nice big chunks which I tried to capture in my photo.  The third jar was Marmalade with Rye Whiskey which I had with some Italian sausages.  All three of these exceeded my expectations so much that I have ordered 3 more jars to try out.Farmer's Daughter Jams

My plan this summer was to try my hand at making strawberry jam but after trying these, I just don’t think I could improve on the freshness of the berries or the wonderful flavor combination.  This company uses seasonal locally sourced ingredients and they really seem to know what they are doing.  My order came with a brochure that talked about the farms they use for the jams.

Please order some jam from them, I want to do what I can to keep them in business, but I can only eat so much jam.
