If you think ranch seasoning tastes good on veggies, wait until you try it on crock pot pork chops! This easy ranch pork chop recipe is made with just a couple of ingredients, bone in pork chops, a Ranch seasoning packet, a bit of chicken broth and milk and some butter and flour. You’ll get tender and juicy pork chops with a ranch flavored gravy all cooked together slowly in the crock pot.

Tender & Juicy Pork Chops with Ranch Seasoning

While not a dump and go recipe, it doesn’t take much work to get tender and juicy pork chops. No need to marinate or brine since they will be cooking slowly, but searing them will seal in the flavor. Adding a packet of ranch dressing to a simple gravy infuses the pork with so much flavor.

If your in a hurry, cook pork chops in a skillet in garlic butter, it will only take about 15 minutes. If you want to be fancy, make some baked pork chops with apples.

Pork chops are not one of those meats that can cook all day in the slow cooker. That works better for a tender and juicy pot roast with mushroom gravy. Once it reaches 145º they should be removed or they’ll get tough. The time will vary depending on how many pork chops you are cooking and your slow cooker. This is all to say you can’t put them on in the morning and come home to tender pork chops. It will only take around 2 hours, possibly a little longer.

To get the most flavor, start by giving the pork chops a quick sear in a skillet this seals in the juices. Then, add them to the crock pot and create a simple sauce for them to cook in. If you want thick gravy, you’ll have to drain the juice at the end into a saucepan and add some cornstarch.

A lot of folks will tell you to just add cornstarch to the slow cooker while they cook, but the pork chops produce a lot of liquid and I’ve found you just don’t get a thick gravy that way. To get that wonderful thick gravy, just mix some cornstarch with a little water and whisk it into the Ranch and pork flavored juice on the stovetop. It just takes a couple of minutes and you have a beautiful brown Southern gravy.

Perfect for pouring over mashed potatoes, rice or egg noodles, you won’t want to miss a drop.

Why You’ll Love Ranch Pork Chops

    • They’re made with Ranch Seasoning: It’s hard to go wrong when you add ranch seasoning. There’s something so satisfying about the savory, tangy flavors in ranch, and no matter what I add them too, people are always excited about it.
    • It’s a Crock Pot recipe: Another winning reason to make this pork chop recipe – it’s cooked in the slow cooker. A couple of hours and your pork chops come out perfectly cooked with almost no effort.
    • The sauce is really, really good: The gravy that’s made in the slow cooker is a rich brown color, full of all the flavors of ranch combined with the caramelized pork chops. You might want to serve this with some biscuits to soak up any gravy on your plate.

    You Don’t Need Much

    • Pork chops – look for bone in chops that are at least 1-inch thick for the best results.
    • Milk – whole milk will make the sauce a little creamier, but any type will work.
    • Ranch seasoning –you’ll need one packet of Ranch dressing or about 2 tablespoons.

How To Make The Best Crock Pot Pork Chops

Step 1: Sear your pork chops.

Start by heating up the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Then, when the pan is really hot, add the pork chops in a single layer and sear for about 2 minutes. Flip and sear the other side for 2 more minutes, then remove them from the pan and set them in your slow cooker.

    Step 2: Start your gravy.

Don’t wash your skillet, just use it as is to get all the pork flavor. Warm up the milk and chicken broth in the microwave. Meanwhile, add butter to the hot skillet, then stir in the flour to make a roux, whisking constantly for about 1 minutes.

Add milk and chicken broth and whisk until thickened.
Ranch seasoning added to a the soup mixture.
    Add ranch seasoning.

Step 3: Finish the ranch pork chops in the slow cooker.

The time will also vary depending on the number and size of your pork chops, so start checking the temperature at 1 ½ hours.

    Cook until they reach 145º.

Step 4: Finish your gravy and serve.

Remove the cooked pork chops from the slow cooker and set them on a serving plate. If you want your gravy to be a bit thicker, pour the sauce into a medium saucepan and begin to heat it over medium heat. Mix 1 teaspoon of cornstarch with a tablespoon of room temperature water in a small bowl. Add the cornstarch slurry to the sauce, whisking until it thickens slightly. Pour the gravy over the pork chops and serve.

Tips for Making Perfectly Tender Ranch Pork Chops with Gravy

    • Don’t over cook the pork chops. Use a meat thermometer and remove once they’ve reached 145º.
    • If you try to mix in cornstarch without adding it to the water, it will end up clumping. If you’re using cornstarch to thicken a sauce, always mix it with liquid first, then add it very slowly, whisking the entire time.
