This crispy topped overnight French toast casserole combines custard soaked bread with strawberry jam and cream cheese for the ultimate overnight casserole. Ingredients
1cupStrawberry jam
12ouncesfrench bread(cut into 11/2 inch pieces)
8ounces cream cheese(cut into 1 inch cubes)
4eggs
2cupshalf-and-half
1teaspooncinnamon
1teaspoonvanilla
½cupbrown sugar
Instructions
Warm jam in microwave for about 1 minute until it is smooth enough to pour.
Place half of the bread cubes in the bottom of a lightly greased 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Top with cream cheese cubes and drizzle with melted jam. Top with remaining bread cubes.
Whisk together eggs, half-and-half, cinnamon and vanilla. Pour over bread mixture. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cover tightly.
Chill for 8-24 hours.
Preheat oven to 325º. Bake covered for 20 minutes. Uncover and bake 10-15 minutes or until bread is golden brown and mixture is set.

If the bread is fresh, cut it into cubes and place in a 250º oven for a few minutes to dry it out.
