– Flank stead – cornstarch – vegetable oil – garlic – fresh ginger – soy sauce – water – dark brown sugar – scallions – cooked rice


Freeze the steak for 20-30 minutes before slicing it into thin pieces.

Step 1

Toss with cornstarch and let sit for 10 minutes.

Step 2

Working in batches, sear the beef slices in a single layer. Cook for one minute on each side and remove to a plate.

Step 3

Add the ginger and garlic to the pan, then add the soy sauce, water and brown sugar. Boil until a thick sauce is created. 

Step 4

If you want to add more veggies to your weeknight beef dinner, then add some bell peppers, onions and/or snow peas after you have removed the beef strips.
