Hot Water Cornbread




Crispy Fried Cornbread made with boiling water

Southern Classic

Crispy fried bite size pieces

Soft interior

– white cornmeal  – baking powder –  salt – sugar –  half-and-half – vegetable oil – boiling water


Step 1

Add half-and-half and oil to cornmeal mixture

Step 2

Add boiling water and let sit for 10 minutes

Step 3

Use an ice cream scoop

Step 4

Add to hot oil 

Step 5

Cook until golden brown

Step 6

Let cool a bit

Serve warm or at room temperature

Great with honey

Great with any meal!
