The filling is to die for with the fresh and dried cherries.

You can make them ahead of time and bake right before serving.

They are great for breakfast or dessert. 

– Cornstarch – Fresh cherries – Dried cherries – Sugar  – Lemon juice – Vanilla  – salt – Puff pastry – Egg white – Coarse sugar

Ingredients for  Hand Pies

Prepare the fabulous sweet cherry filling.

Step 1

Prepare the crust with a puff pastry by rolling it out and cutting them into rectangles. 

Step 2

Add a dollop of the cherry filling and fold the pastry over.

Step 3

Crimp the edges, cut a slit in the center and brush with an egg wash to give them a golden color. Sprinkle with Demerara sugar before baking.

Step 4

Let cool slightly before adding a powdered sugar glaze.

Step 5

To help seal the pies, brush an egg white mixture along the borders of the pastry.

You probably won’t have leftovers, but if you do, re-heat them in the oven for a few minutes.
