Just a dash of almond extract and slivered almonds to give some crunch.

They make a great bake sell dessert. 

– Flour – Sugar – Salt – Butter – Frozen cherries – Cherry preserves – Lemon juice – Almond extract – Rolled oats – Slivered almonds – Brown sugar

Ingredients for  Cherry Streusel Bars

Get your oven heated and line a 9 x 13 baking pan with parchment. Spray it lightly with cooking spray.

Step 1

Create the crust. Using a food processor, combine the ingredients and then bake it 16 min. 

Step 2

Create a filling for your crust. Add all ingredients to the food processor and pulse until combined but still a little chunky. Set aside.

Step 3

Put the streusel together: Add oats, almonds and brown sugar to the reserved flour mixture. Add butter and use fingers to combine and forms into small clumps. Set aside.

Step 4

Add cherry mixture to baked crust, it can still be hot. Then sprinkle streusel over the top, don’t press it in. Bake until filling is bubbling and streusel is golden brown.
