– Dark chocolate and cream – Pecans – Corn syrup – Bourbon and vanilla – Pantry staples – Pie crust

You will need a rimmed baking sheet for a slab pie. 

Step 1

Spread the melted chocolate over the crust. Freeze the pan for 10 min.

We're going to get started on that filling. Pour it over the hardened chocolate crust.

Step 4

Add the crust - have fun with it! Instead of trying to fit the rest of the pie crust evenly over the pie, cut it into strips and make a fun design on top.

Step 5

Brush with an egg wash after you’ve had fun designing and then bake it.

TIP

Bourbon is perfect with the sweet filling but if that’s not your thing, an easy substitution is vanilla.

What is a slab pie pan?

A slab pie pan is one that is rectangular and has a lip on the side. Some call it a jelly roll pan.

With a slab pie, cut the slices very small for mini treats or full size and top with a scoop of ice cream.
