Butter & Baggage is committed to bringing delicious, and dependable Southern recipes. I seek out authorities on cooking techniques and ingredients so that I can add my unique spin on Southern favorites. All of the photos seen on the Website have been taken by me and, while edited for exposure and light, are all of actual food that we eat or share with friends and family and not doctored by any artificial ingredients or toppings to make them look better.

I take great pride in the work on the blog and strive to create original, accurate, authoritative, and well-researched content free of ethical concerns, conflicts, and misinformation.

    Recipe Development and Testing

On Butter & Baggage, you’ll find hundreds of recipes that were developed by me and designed for home cooks to be made in their kitchens. My recipes celebrate unique cooking techniques and flavors of the South. They also happen to be delicious. And, most importantly, they work. All my recipes have been made several times to make sure they will be a success in your kitchen. If you see a problem with a recipe, please notify me by emailing barbara@butterandbaggage.com.
