Baked Boursin Cheese might be the easiest appetizer you’ll ever make, but it looks like something from a restaurant menu. Boursin cheese is coated in a simple panko mixture and baked in the oven for 20 minutes until crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Drizzle a little hot honey on top for the perfect finish.

A Simple Baked Boursin Appetizer That Feels Restaurant-Worthy
This cheesy appetizer is the epitome of a low-effort starter that looks elegant but couldn’t be easier to whip up. It’s basically a Boursin cheese round dredged in flour, egg, and panko breadcrumbs.
The cheese bakes in the oven until soft and gooey, and the bread crumbs turn golden brown and crispy. It gets even better when you drizzle a little hot honey over the top along with a sprinkle of fresh rosemary for extra flavor.
Serve with crackers, veggies, chips, or spread it onto crusty baguette slices for an elegant appetizer that’s relaxed enough for game days but fancy enough for holiday parties. You can never have enough simple appetizer recipes in your back pocket.
Try serving it with a non-cheesy fresh tomato and peach salsa and some homemade pita chips for the perfect combination of appetizers.

Ingredient Notes for a Fancy Little Appetizer
You need just a few key ingredients for making this easy appetizer. Don’t forget to check the recipe card for the full list and measurements.

- Garlic and herb Boursin cheese: This soft, creamy cheese is already seasoned with herbs and garlic, which saves you from extra chopping or mixing. You can also use shallot and chive or cracked black pepper Boursin if you’d like to change up the flavor. Make sure to keep it cold until you’re ready to coat it so it holds its shape while breading.
- Spicy honey (or hot honey): This adds a sweet heat that cuts through the creamy cheese and salty crust. I keep a bottle of Mike’s hot honey on hand just for this appetizer. If you don’t have hot honey, make your own by mixing 1 tablespoon of regular honey with a pinch of cayenne or a drizzle of hot sauce. Warm it slightly before drizzling so it spreads easily.
Quick Customizations
- Try a different drizzle: Instead of hot honey, use balsamic glaze, pepper jelly, or a spoonful of fig jam.
- Add more crunch: Sprinkle some almonds, walnuts, or pistachios on top for extra crunch.
