The Shed – Santa Fe, New Mexico

While there are a lot of restaurants to try in Santa Fe, I feel that this one shouldn’t be missed.  It has a laid back upbeat vibe and the food is great.  I think everyone in Santa Fe is laid back, maybe it’s the margaritas.  We had one at a bar one night where they smoked sage under the glass before adding the drink.  They are serious about their margaritas here.

The Shed was recommended to us by several folks who had visited the area, so we went ahead and got a reservation a few weeks before we left. While I don’t think you need to reserve a table that far in advance, if you don’t want to wait, you will need a reservation. However, don’t miss out on this just because you may have to wait. The bar seemed like a pretty cool place to hang out.

This place has been around for a while and for good reason. They have a limited menu which allows them to make sure that each dish is exceptional.  This is what I would consider, “traditional” Santa Fe food.  We both tried enchiladas but different versions.  Mike went went the red chili sauce which was our favorite of the two.

It was a little spicy but not too spicy.  However, the flavor was amazing. They serve their dishes with a side of garlic bread, which sounds a little strange but was really good.  Of course you need to get a margarita to go with it, after all, it’s Santa Fe and this place like most has a lot to choose from.
