Christini’s
I have two cities that every time I have an opportunity to visit, I make a point to go back to these restaurants for fabulous Italian food. The first is Filomena’s in Washington, D.C., and the second is Christini’s in Orlando. While the food in Disney has improved so much over the past 10 years, this is still one to put on your list. Please don’t bring really young children here, it’s not that type of restaurant. It’s the type of place where you can spend a leisurely three hours without even realizing it.
Now it could be that since we don’t have great Italian food in my neighborhood, that It doesn’t take much to impress me. However, even those who have access to great Italian food agree with me on these two restaurants. So if you need a night away from kids and Disney, try Christini’s, it’s only about five minutes from the parks.
The service is impeccable, you will even be escorted to the restroom. We started out with an anti pasta special for the table which was pasta florentine, a very large shrimp, and calamari. This was followed by one of their specialty dishes, a bone-in veal chop with three cheeses that completely covered my plate. Needless to say, I could not come close to finishing it which was such a shame. Others in our group had sea bass, and veal scallopini, both were fabulous. We couldn’t leave without sharing the cheesecake which was a perfect ending to a great Italian meal. It was dark inside so no photos of food, you will just have to trust me on how delicious it is, or check out the photo’s on their website. This will have to hold me over until I get the real deal during my empty nest trip in the fall.
