    Willow’s – Winston-Salem, NC

Taylor and I were exploring new restaurants in Winston-Salem during Mother-Daughter weekend for her sorority and came across this one. We went on a Saturday night during furniture market without a reservation. The hostess was great and let us sit at the bar which was really a blessing in disguise. The bar in the restaurant looks right into the kitchen, so we had a birds eye view of everything they were preparing. The kitchen staff looked like they were having fun. This is a local restaurant that uses local organic ingredients and fresh seafood. They also feature a local artist who has adorable dog paintings throughout the space making it feel eclectic and fun.

A flat bread pizza at Willow

After watching the chefs for a while we decided on a whole wheat flatbread pizza to start with. The crust was perfect and the mix of cheese and herbs blended so well that we devoured it. We also tried the grilled romaine salad with a wonderful homemade dressing and ended with fresh scallops in a strawberry chipotle sauce that was so good we wanted to lick the plate. I love when a restaurant incorporates what is in season in their menu. We will put this restaurant on our list for future weekend visits.
